The Alzheimer’s Association is very honored to have Ed Plizga as a volunteer. A dedicated companion of the In-Home Respite program for 15 years, Ed has worked with many family members who care for a relative diagnosed with a dementia disorder. Caregivers receive relief from their caregiver duties for a short time and our client is enriched with a new friend.

Ed’s knowledge and experience are a comfort to the families he serves. His uplifting and cheery personality brings smiles to their faces as well as a sigh of relief. They are confident that he is capable of handling any situation that may arise during their absence. Ed’s visits are always well received and appreciated. Among his other commitments are his grandchildren, wife and long time volunteer position at his church.

We would like to salute Ed Plizga for his time and effort in the In-Home Respite program. We appreciate his dedication and commitment to our Alzheimer’s clients and their family members.

My name is Geri Gudanowski and I have worked with Ed for the past eight years. At the end of this year Ed will be retiring. I wish him his well-earned rest. I invite you to call me and learn about volunteering. There is a senior waiting who needs companionship and a friend. You can contact me at 248-351-0280 ext. #225
